Dewayne "Wayne" Couey

Dewayne “Wayne” Couey, age 67, lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Riceville.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James Edward and Lucy Wright Couey and his brother: Fred Couey.

Dewayne is survived by his wife: Brenda Fagg Couey, daughters: Denise Davis and Crystal Robinson (John), sons: Samuel Dale Johnson (Kim) and Herbert Junior Johnson (Jenny), sister: Mae King, brother: Franklin Couey (Margie), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Riceville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the church with Reverend Garry King and Reverend Lucky Grubb officiating. Interment will follow at Couey Family Cemetery in Riceville, TN.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
