Dorothy Fay Dawson Frisbie, age 98, lifelong resident of McMinn County, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was the oldest living member of Union McMinn Baptist Church and a faithful member until her health began to decline. Dorothy loved to cook, was a great cake decorator, and loved to crochet. She made many beautiful things, including quilts, for her family and friends. Dorothy loved the children she babysat, as they all held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph S. and Hattie Holt Dawson, her husband of 59 years: Hubert Lee Frisbie, her brothers: Arrants Dawson, Roy Dawson, Joe Dawson, and Kenneth Dawson, her sisters: Pearl Lonas, Esti Holt, Mabel Smith Kelley, and Rosie Estes, a son-in-law: Wilbern H. Brewster, and a grandson: Jason Anthony Brewster.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Judy L. Brewster of Niota, and Jewel L. Brown (Charles) of Calhoun, grandchildren: Scott Brewster of Niota, Eric Brown (Jamie) of Decatur, and Amy (Shawn) Everson, great-grandchildren: Kayeley Brewster, Samantha Everson, James Brown, and Alex Brown, a great-great-grandson: Jonathon Frye, a sister-in-law: Deloris Dawson of Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Union McMinn Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the church with Reverend Gabe Brannon officiating. Interment will follow funeral services at Niota Cemetery.
Don Reed, Mark Plaster, Steve Frisbie, Marvin Frisbie, Kenneth Willis, and Donnie Willis will serve as pallbearers.
