Age 87

Of Niota

Passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020

At Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens

A native of Mineral Bluff, GA. and resident of McMinn County for over 50 years, he was the son of the late Clifford and Mabel Davis Barton and was preceded in death by two sons, Zachary Barton and Ernie Barton Jr.; four brothers, Benny, Phillip, Cecil and Larry Barton; one sister, Dorothy Barton. He was a former employee of General Mills.

He loved playing bluegrass, gospel music and enjoyed going to nursing homes to share his music.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years,

Ruth Ann Sabedra Barton of Niota

One brother and sister-in-law,

Clifford and Neva Barton of Crown Point, IN.

One sister,

Margaret Barton of Cleveland

Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside will be held Sunday, April 5, 2020 at New Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers willbe Alan Wilson, Donald Wilson, Scott Nash, Daniel Bowney, Bobby Davis, and Jerry Howell.
