Earline (Loy) Hill entered the presence of her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on August 25, 1938, in Adair County, KY, one of eight children to the late Gilliam & Liza Alice (Bragg) Loy.
Earline was a native of Adair County, KY but lived in both Bridgeview, IL and Goose Creek, SC before settling in Riceville, TN. She loved to quilt and to garden. She loved God, her family, and the opportunity to travel. She brought the most delicious meals and desserts to every reunion and always shared the recipes. She was an active member of Freedom Baptist Church in Athens, TN.
Earline is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Allen Hill; her daughters, Beverly (Phil) Hollingsworth and Tammy (Rodney) Durst; her step-daughter, Margaret (Mark) Hall, her grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany) Hollingsworth, Taylor (Audrey) Durst and Samuel Durst; her step-grandchildren, Elizabeth (David) Ottersberg, Steven (Jennifer) Hall, Kathryn (Jacob) Pedigo, her great-grandchildren, Katie Beth, Levi, and Noah Hollingsworth, her step great-grandchildren, Xavier Hall, Robert Pedigo and Kennedy Pedigo, her sisters, Almarine (Loy) Morgan, Emily (Loy) Gravitt and Flora (Loy) Claywell; sisters-in-law, Mildred (Brown) Loy and Cecile (Hill) Harvey, and many loving nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Young Loy and Martin Russell Loy; and sisters, Ruth (Loy) Moore and Virginia Ann (Loy) Nix.
Although she has left this earth and now resides in a mansion beyond the Pearly Gates on a street made of pure gold, we will miss her deeply. However, we find comfort in knowing that we will be reunited with her one day in Heaven.
Visitation will be held at Freedom Baptist Church on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. She will lie in state at the church on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Chad Oody and Grandson Ryan Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens with Brother Chris Leonard officiating.
Flowers and/or memorial contributions to World Bible Missions, PO Box 116, Athens, TN 37371 are equally welcome.
