Emma “Jean” Hicks, born on January 18th, 1950, she was the youngest child of Willie "Pete" and Reva "Jack" McConkey. Jesus called her home on December 31st, 2024, while she was surrounded by her family. She was ready to enter her heavenly home, where she would kiss Jesus's scars, reunite with loved ones, and care for all the animals.
This inspiring woman was an extraordinary individual, embodying God’s love. Her selflessness was evident in her willingness to give all she could, to all who needed. To have known her was to have experienced God’s love. She was always eager to share the teaching of Jesus with everyone.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Willie and Reva McConkey, siblings: Muriel Atkins, Ray McConkey, Sandy Smith, Jerry McConkey, nephews: Troy and Sam McConkey, and great-niece: Kayla McConkey.
She is survived by her two daughters: Kim (Tim) Goodwin and Karen Hicks, grandchildren: Nathan (Jamie) Goodwin and Tiffany (Casey) Dobson, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, her brother: Bob (Gail) McConkey, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Madisonville on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU team, particularly Honor, at Turkey Creek Tennova.
