Emma “Sue” Brannon King, age 90, a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on October 28, 2025. She was a longtime Riceville Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Thelma Dixon Brannon, her husband of over 50 years: Fred E. King, a daughter: Louise King, a son: Scott King, and brothers: Buddy Brannon and Dwight Brannon.
Sue is survived by her son: Lynn (Shelia) King, her siblings: Mary Lee Tallent, Margaret Poston, Joe (Bonnie) Brannon, and John Henry (Cathryn) Brannon, grandchildren: Hannah (Levi) Johnson, Jeff King, Jamie Jones, and Brandon King, great-grandchildren: Megan McKinley, Taylor and Michael Jones, and four great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ziegler Funeral Home on Friday, October 31, 2025, from
11:00 AM-1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 1:00 PM. Lynn King will be officiating. Interment will follow funeral services at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery.
Jeff King, Michael Jones, Levi Johnson, Alan Brannon, Clarence Boles, and Jon Burrell will serve as pallbearers.
