Frances “Joann” Trusley Wilcox, age 79, a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She loved Elvis, panda bears, Victor Newman of The Young and the Restless, The Price is Right, red roses, and Denzel Washington. Joann was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William Jay and Isabell Doss Trusley, her husband of 51 years: William Jerome Wilcox, along with many brothers and sisters.
Joann is survived by her daughter: Mary Melissa (Missy) Wilcox of Niota, sons: William “Bill” and Christine Wilcox of Ludowici, GA, and Charles Edward Wilcox of Niota, grandchildren: Jasmin (Jimmy) Carter, Jessica Ann (Robert) Douglass, and Samantha (Andrew) Duncan, great-grandchildren: Jonathan Wilcox, Lillian Carter, James Duncan, and Alexandra Duncan, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, special friends: Lisa Womac and Jaina Medlin, grandcats: Bella and Baby Rose.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Niota Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
