Freddy Lee Hester, age 74, a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He started his career as a roofer, was employed for many years with the Southern Railway, then worked as a truck driver for Purdy Brothers. Freddy loved fishing, camping, and golfing. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Ida Mae Hester Chrisman, his sisters: Ollie Mae Frisby and Juanita Hester, and his brothers: Larry Hester, Virgil Hester, Billy Hester, and Clarence Hester.
Freddy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Parthenia Sharp Hester, a son: Randy Hester (Deidre), two grandchildren: Cody Sherlin and Abigail Satherlie, a brother: Jones Albert Hester, a sister: Dale Ann White (Terry), along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Victory Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from
5:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Reverend Chad Hester officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Keith Wilcox, Craig Wilcox, Brandon Wilcox, Cody Sherlin, Brad Hester, Jordan Kent, and Johnny Allen Sharp will serve as pallbearers.
