Gale Huffaker

Gale Dawson Huffaker, age 76, a longtime resident of Knoxville and resident of McMinn County for 16 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was the Director of Nursing at St. Mary’s Medical Center and held a Masters in Social Work from UT Knoxville.  

She is preceded in death by her parents: Earl Lee and Maxine Wallace Dawson, and her beloved son: John Jason Huffaker.

Gale is survived by her daughter: Leslie Burger (Larry), granddaughter: Trista Burger, sisters: Donna Barr (Buddy), Robin Cox, Elisa Simmons (Scotty), Elana Hall (Lynn), a brother: David Dawson (Sandy), former husband: John Huffaker (Frances), along with many beloved Huffaker family members.

There will be a private family service at a later date.
