Gary Wayne Womac, age 67, of Calhoun passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at his residence.
Gary was a native of Kingston and longtime resident of Calhoun. He was a son of the late Thomas David and Theda Mae Shamblin Womac. He is also preceded in death by brother William “Billy” Womac.
Gary was a member of Hiwassee Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver and painter. His hobbies were driving a race car and fishing.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Lisa Earlene Peeler Womac of Calhoun,
Daughter Theda Christy Landers (Brad) of Athens;
Son Zach Womac of Calhoun;
Grandchildren Jackson Penley, Emma Plemons, Carson Plemons, and Sutton Womac;
Step Grandchildren Tyson Landers and Ryleigh Landers;
Sisters Bernice Blassingame (James), and Beverly Blassingame (Larry “Butch”);
Sister-In-Law Delores Womac.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Hiwassee Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Liner officiating. Interment will follow at Calhoun Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zach Womac, Jackson Penley, Carson Plemons, Jacob Stewart, Lane Lawson, and John Ingram.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM – 11:30 AM Saturday at Hiwassee Baptist Church.
