Gemima “Jeannie” Leonardo Boyce, age 87, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Jeannie traveled and lived many places around the world when she served as a nurse in the United States Army. Jeannie earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), and the Armed Forces Medal. She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Jeannie was later employed with Rightway/AppleTree Health Foods for over 20 years. She was a lover of all dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Amadeo and Maria DeFonzo Leonardo, her loving husband: Reverend Paul Ernest Boyce, along with nine brothers and sisters.
Gemima is survived by a brother: Joseph Leonardo, nephews: Michael Falco and Robert Leonardo, a niece: Susan Leonardo, and special friend/caregiver: Sandy Walker.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with full military honors. Reverend Stanley Hammonds will be officiating.
