Geneva Carter Banks Ramsey, Age 88 of Athens passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
A native and lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Fannie Miller Carter and was preceded in death by her husband, Melbourne Ramsey; Brothers, Marshall, J.D., James, Glen and Gene Carter. She had retired from Plastic Industries, and was a long time member of Pope Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law; Brenda and Freddie Cagle of Athens; a grandson, Travis Cagle; a niece and many nephews.
Special friends; Rex Crabtree, Pope Avenue Church members, and neighbors on Tellico Avenue.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastors Vic King and Van Elkins officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday August 6, at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 at Ziegler Funeral Home.
