Geneva Wilson Swafford, age 89, of Athens, passed away Tuesday March 15, 2022, at her residence.
Geneva was a native of Decatur and longtime resident of the Clear Springs Community near Athens. She was the daughter of the late Gene and Fannie O’Daniel Wilson. She was also preceded by son Kenneth Swafford, daughter Dianne Sneed, brothers Tommy Wilson and Ira James Wilson, and sisters Gracie Lee Bright and Ozella Goforth.
Geneva was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Geneva is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Ralph Swafford;
Daughter Mildred Ogle of Cleveland;
Son Glenn Swafford (Elisa) of Riceville;
14 Grandchildren;
23 Great Grandchildren;
6 Great Great Grandchildren;
Sisters Bonnie Bright of Riceville and Shirley Dake of Athens;
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 7 PM Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Clear Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Fansler officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 11 AM Friday at Clear Springs Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Jarvis, Bobby Jarvis, Bobby Goforth, Tim Howard, Ben Howard and Larry Hope.
Honorary Pallbearers are Andy Garcia and Cameron Cooley
The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM Thursday at Clear Springs Baptist Church.
