George Taylor Hester

George Taylor Hester, age 79, of Philadelphia, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at his residence.

He was a native of Tellico Plains and longtime resident of Meigs County.

George was a son of the late Taylor and Viola Runion Hester. He was also preceded in death by a brother: James Hester, and a sister: Juanita Roy.

He is survived by; daughters: Savannah Berryhill and spouse, T.W., who he lovingly referred to as his son, of Philadelphia; Nadine “Grease Monkey” Moore (Dewayne) of Philadelphia.

Grandchildren: Thomas Berryhill (Amy), Shawn Berryhill, Jacob Hester (Holly), Matthew Berryhill, Paisley Link, Milika Kelso, Cason Kelley, Adam Austerman, three great-grandsons, the mother of his children: Martha Hester of Philadelphia, Sister; Mildred Standridge of Decatur, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.

George’s sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
