Harley James Moses, age 80, of Englewood, entered into his Heavenly home on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A native of Tellico Plains, TN, and a resident of the Liberty Hill Community in Englewood for 52 years. Harley was a quiet, humble man and was loved by everyone. He had a kind, meek, and gentle spirit. He enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with his family. He was retired from Johnson Controls in Athens, TN where he was known as “Elvis”. Harley was a member of Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James and Emma Moses, his father and mother-in-law: Reverend Charles and Etheleen Hicks, his brother: Alvin Moses, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Doug Long, Gail Moses, Louise Moses, Charleen and Sonny Thrasher, Gale and Glenn Moses and Mark Hicks.

Harley is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Rebecca Moses, who was also his caretaker during his illness. His daughters and son-in-law: Stephanie Amburn, and April and Jason Givens, his grandchildren: Cheyenne (Chett) Hensley, Chasady Axley, Charley Amburn, Autumn (Bryar) Masingale, and Hunter Givens, his great-grandchildren: Ashlynn and Asher Hensley and Eden, Josie and Reed Masingale, his brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth (Glenna) Moses, Glenn (Charlotte) Moses, and Jerry Moses, his sisters and brother-in-law: Joann Long, Carolyn (Scott) Lynn, and Shirley Moses, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church (241 County Road 442, Slack Road, Athens, TN) A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Reverend Bill Hicks officiating. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers are Hunter Givens, Charley Amburn, Bryar Masingale, Anthony Hicks, Caleb Hicks, Chett Hensley, and Peyton Moses. Honorary pallbearers will be Asher Hensley and Reed Masingale.
