Harold Eugene Coleman

Harold Eugene Coleman, age 84, of Athens, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at his residence.

Harold was a native of Athens and lifelong resident of Athens.  He was a son of the late Clemor and Cecil Cline Coleman.  He is also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Ester Lee Neeley Coleman on March 11, 2022, daughter Debbie Brock, sister Sue Branham, and brother Harlan Coleman.

Harold worked for Johns Manville for 30 years in research and development.  He was an avid hunter and fishman having won several fishing tournaments.

Harold is survived by

Daughters Linda Swafford (Lynn) of Athens and Lisa Spoon of Athens;

Son David Coleman (Kim) of Englewood;

Grandchildren Jerry Swafford, Johnathan Swafford, Kelly Duncan, Stephen Coleman, Amanda Duckett, and Kevin Bookout;

9 Great Grandchildren;

Sister Joyce Robinson (Larry) of Englewood;

Half Brothers Eugene Coleman and James Coleman;

Half Sisters Bernice Axley and Darlene Coleman.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Swafford officiating.  Interment will follow in Chestuee/Campground Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Swafford, Stephen Coleman, Kevin Bookout, Jacob Duncan, Nathan Duncan, Jase Swafford, and Isaac Duncan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Jenkins, Rusty Arterburn, and Hoyle Humphreys.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday prior to the service.
