Harold Mendal Cordell, age 84, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his residence.
Harold was a native of Decatur and longtime resident of McMinn County. He was a son of the late Bill and Leona Falls Cordell. He is also preceded in death by brothers Billy Cordell and Kenneth Cordell.
Harold attended Concord United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army. He was a retired journeyman electrician with TVA. He was a member of the IBEW Local 75 and a life member of the AMVETS where he had served as post commander.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Ama Deane Wallace Cordell of Athens;
Sons Jeff Cordell of Cleveland and Todd Cordell of Etowah;
Grandchildren Stephen Cordell (Hannah) of Etowah, Cameron Cordell (Olivia) of Athens, Wade Cordell, Levi Cordell and Autumn Cordell all of Cleveland;
Sister Helen O’Daniel (Ben) of Chattanooga;
Brother J.T. Cordell of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Will Conner officiating. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Cordell, Todd Cordell, Stephen Cordell, Cameron Cordell, Wade Cordell and Levi Cordell.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Ziegler Funeral Home.
