JOHNNY YORK Obituary

Johnny (Pappy) Albert York, age 77 of Athens, passed away June 30, 2020, at Life Care Center of Athens.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Buck Mason and Ann York. He was preceded in death by sisters; Ollie Farris, Betty Leamon, Ruby Ricker, and a grandson William Braden.

He loved to fish and was a mechanic in Athens for many years. He served in the Army and Marine Corps for countless years and was a Vietnam Vet.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Hazel Ruth Newman York of Athens; Sons David Gennoe, Jeff York, Chris and wife Tonya York; Daughter Bonnie Braden; Granddaughters Hailey Marie Braden and Alyssa Braden; Great Granddaughter Acadia Odell.
