Jacquelyn “Jackie” Jean Carnes Carpenter, age 68, longtime resident of Meigs County, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather: Iva Jean Lankford and Earl Porter.
Jacquelyn is survived by her loving husband of 47 years: Steven Frazier Carpenter, daughters: Angie Brown (Zac), Ivy Carpenter, Eden Carpenter, Stephanie Carpenter, and Amber Carpenter, grandchildren: Mia Brown and Eva Mae Brown, best friend and caregiver: Cheryl Powers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Herman Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
Jason Lankford, Luke Lankford, Zac Brown, Thomas Laffoon, Kaiden Williams, Matt O’Daniel, Denny Powers, and Jacob Powers will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
