James “Henry” Knox, age 88, a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and cutting wood. James served in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert Lee and Zelma Jones Knox, grandchildren: Joshua Morgan and Joseph Morgan, a sister: Alice Moses, and a brother: Billy Joe Knox.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 68 years: Aileen Moses Knox, daughter: Sherry Patterson (Johnny), sons: James Allan Knox (Samantha), and Gary Dwayne Knox (Gloria), grandchildren: Shelby Mynatt (Tyler), Alex Patterson, James Allan Henry Knox, and Faith Knox, a sister: Nell McCallister, and his brothers: Erskin Knox, Patrick Knox, and Sam Knox.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at McMinn Memory Gardens on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jimmy Lewis officiating.
Alex Patterson, Tyler Mynatt, Terry Russell, Gary Knox, and Shelby Mynatt will serve as pallbearers.
