James "Jim" Clyde Sherman

James “Jim” Clyde Sherman passed away on Friday morning, November 14, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was known as a devoted husband and loving father, as well as an amazing son and brother. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors almost as much as his grandchildren. His faith in the Lord reflected in every aspect of his life. Jim’s last wish was that all his children and grandchildren knew the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Criss and Maymie Sherman, and a nephew: Keith Jubar.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 30 years: Janet Sherman, and their children: April (Nathan) Riley, Billy (Lacy) Sliger and Nicole (Josh) Hicks, their grandchildren: Nathaniel, Kolh, Haylie, Wyatt, Klay, D.J., Caleb, Beau, Raylan, Bethany, Johnny, Kirt, Anna, and Emma, a sister: Wanda Sherman, and a nephew: Bruce (Jo) Jubar.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Sherman Family Cemetery, located at 1171 County Road 214 Niota, TN.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
