James Curtis “Jimmy” Elliott, age 71, of Riceville, entered into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by his family.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Merle Elliott and Betty Morrow Elliott.
Jimmy faithfully served in the ministry for over 52 years and 49 of those years as a pastor. He served as pastor at Hilltop Baptist Church for11 years until his retirement in January due to declining health.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Robbin Morrow Elliott
Daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Ethan Dawson
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Kathy Morrow
Several cousins and his Hilltop Baptist Church family, whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Hilltop Baptist Church with Brother Fred Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corbin Buckner, J.R. Colloms, Rick Lankford, Andy Myers, Wayne Oetting, Michael Standridge, Ethan Dawson
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the funeral service at Hilltop Baptist Church.
