Jerry “Pappy” Homer Freeman, age 75, of Niota, and a lifetime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was a member of Cambria Baptist Church in Etowah.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Julia Annalee Grindell Freeman, loving wife of 47 years: Edna Malissa Hicks Freeman, brothers: Robert Freeman and Ronnie Freeman, and sister: Wanda Freeman.
Jerry is survived by his daughters: Heather Ervin (John), Adrian Schmidt (Lawrence) and Kelly Moore (Jason), sons: James Brackner (Martha), Bear Freeman (Miriah) and Jay Freeman (Christi), grandchildren: Anni, Vinny (Diana), Free, Evan (Katrina), River, Grey (Abby), Dawson, Alyssa, Aiden, Jett, Harper, Turner, Parker, Presley, Ty, Joe (Kaley) and Robbie, great grandchildren: Ariyah, Axel, Ace, and Mason, sister: Dale Hughes, brothers: Larry Freeman, Tony Freeman, and Steve Freeman, his little sidekick: Patrick, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cambria Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor Jimmy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow directly after funeral services at Cambria Cemetery.
