Jessie Geraldean (Hill) King

Jessie Geraldean Hill King, age 74, of Athens passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Jessie was a native of Athens and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  She was a daughter of the late Jack and Willie Marie White Hill.  She is also preceded in death by her sister Ellen Carter and brothers Paul Bunch, Kenneth Bunch, and John D. Bunch.

Jessie was a devoted member of Sanford Baptist Church.  She formerly worked at Riceville Elementary School in the cafeteria.

Jessie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years James “Jim” King of Athens;

Daughters Jackie Rena King of Athens, Jessica Renee Favors (Jermaine) of Chattanooga, and Nneka Ashley King of Athens;

Sons Jeffrey Lynn King of Young Harris, GA, and Doug King (Michelle) of Dalton, GA;

Granddaughter Kathryn Genae Favors of Chattanooga;

Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 2 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Cantrell officiating.  Interment will follow at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jermaine Favors, Shane White, Micheal Dawson, Mike Allen, Mickey Blevins, and Steve Woody.

The family will receive friends from 1 PM – 2 PM Sunday.
