Karen Marie Fairbanks Denton, age 58, native of McMinn County and longtime resident of Madisonville, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She enjoyed camping, visiting Cades Cove, and driving in the mountains. Karen loved and enjoyed her grandkids dearly. She was employed with Denso.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Sam Junior and Imojean Shelton Fairbanks, and a brother: Sammy Fairbanks.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 25 years: Jerry Allen Denton, daughters: Ashley Fairbanks and Kimberly Denton, a son: Jeremy Fairbanks (Tiffany), grandchildren: Juan Kenneth Lopez, Kenneth Roy Fairbanks, Isabella Marie McGarvey and another on the way: Laura Marie Fairbanks, a sister: Cynthia “Cindy” Fairbanks Boyd, and three brothers: Don Fairbanks (Anita), Chucky Fairbanks, and Jackie Fairbanks (Donna).
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow funeral services at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Decatur.
Todd Holt, Shane Roller, Paul Messer, Nicholas Fairbanks, Jeremy Fairbanks, Chucky Fairbanks, and Don Fairbanks will serve as pallbearers.
