Obituary

Katherine Louise Miller Simpson, age 88, of Niota, passed away Saturday March 12, 2022 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.

Katherine was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Minnie Lemons Miller, her husband Wilburn Jackson “Dub” Simpson, and several brothers and sisters.

She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Katherine is survived by sons and daughters in law;

Ray and Mary Simpson of Niota;

Jerry and Pat Simpson of Niota;

Brother; Jimmy Miller of Madisonville;

Sister; Pat Eaves Riggs of Athens;

Brother in law; Joe Simpson (Linda);

Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, Tuesday March 15, 2022, at Ziegler Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Billy Burton officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 11 AM Wednesday at Simpson Cemetery for Katherine’s graveside service.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
