Larry Arnold Kennedy, age 79, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2023, while visiting his family in Alabama. Larry was retired from Plastics Industries and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Robert and Belva Hixon Kennedy. He is further preceded by a son: Jim Kennedy, sisters: Vicki Wright and Bobbie Thomas, and a brother: Jimmy Kennedy.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Patsy “Pat” Kennedy, daughter: Pamela Couscos (John), grandson: Aaron Kennedy, Diamanda Pike (Derek), Patricia Duncan (Travis), Katina Tsirnikas (Adam), and Demetrius Couscos (Melody), great-grandchildren: Emily, Lexi, Tyson, Jaxon, Lanie, Brayden, Sophia, Ana, and Yianni, sisters: Jeanette Bidwell and Reba Heifnar, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Stanley Liner officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at McMinn Memory Gardens in Athens.
Derek Pike, Travis Duncan, John Couscos, Adam Tsirnikas, Demetrius Couscos, Tyson Duncan, Jaxon Duncan, and Jerry Davis will serve as pallbearers.
