Linda Dell Hogan Evans, age 79, native of Andrews, NC, and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. She worked for many years in accounting at Evans Construction and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church for over 20 years. She loved the Lord and devoted herself to His service through singing with the Hogan family. Proclaiming Jesus Christ through song was her joy in life.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Pastor G.D. and Anna Lou Trantham Hogan, a brother: Pastor Roy Hogan, sisters: Mary Lee Cardin and Delores Jan Carter, and a daughter-in-law: Becky Evans.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: James “Buster” Evans of Athens, son: Dan and Kim Evans of Riceville, brothers: David and Margo Hogan of Waynesville, NC, Jimmy and Teena Hogan of Athens, sister-in-law: Jamia Hogan of Athens, granddaughters: Cayci (Sean) Leamon, Jaclyn Evans, grandsons; Jake (Brooke) Evans, Jacob Crockett and Zachary Crockett, 3 great-grandchildren: Eva Leamon, Zeke and Cat Tyndall Evans, special friend and caregiver: Kimberly Gilpin, several nieces and nephews, along with her extended church family.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Brother Brad Lane and Brother Chris Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Jake Evans, Sean Leamon, Zachary Crockett, Jacob Crockett, Zach Henderson, and Ben Henderson will serve as pallbearers.
