Margaret “Louise” Wallace Womac, age 89, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025. She was a longtime member of East Athens Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Chip and Kathryn Jones Wallace, her husband of 72 years: Reverend Claude Melton Womac, a son: Chris Womac, a brother: Haskell Wallace, a grandson: Dallas Chrisman, and a great-grandson: Deonte Womac.
Louise is survived by daughters: Claudette Johnston (Bill) and Alison Matoy (Michael), grandchildren: Carmon Womac, Christy Womac, Chase Matoy, and Jordan Johnston (Leah), great-grandchildren: Destiny Ferguson, Christian Hughes, Hunter Matoy, and Mela Matoy, and a great-great-grandson: Tytus Sisson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Jason Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Isaiah 117 House.
