Lynn (Cook) Letner

Myra Lynn Cook Letner, age 66, died Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Lynn was a native of Marietta, Ga. and a resident of Athens since 1981. She was a daughter of the late Hubert Maurice Cook Sr. and Lois Abernathy Cook. Lynn was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Grace Letner and a brother, Hubert Maurice “Mike” Cook, Jr.

Lynn recently retired from Selective Structures where she served as office manager.

Lynn truly was a “people person”.  She loved everyone and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. With a heart of gold, Lynn cared for the needs of many who called her Big Mama.

Lynn is survived by a son,

Brandon Charles Letner, of Athens

Tabitha Smith and husband, Mike of Marietta, GA

Susan Taylor and husband, Keith of Rydal, GA

Patti Mullinax  and husband, Rickey of Cumming, GA

Along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A Memorial service celebrating Lynn’s life will be held on June 04, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Olive Baptist Church, located at 240 Falling Springs Road in Rydal, GA with Reverend Derron Brown and Reverend Eric Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
