MINNIE MARIE (HOWARD) WRIGHT

Minnie Marie Howard Wright, Age 92 of Athens passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.

A lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Hardin and Ruth Byrum Howard and was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wright; 2 brothers, Melvin and Victor Howard; one sister, Louse Fillers and also a grandson Eric Dewayne Wright.  She was a member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church but attended West End Baptist Church.

Minnie was a former employee of Ridge Textile and retired from Textron Industries.  Her greatest love was for children and babysat until the age of 90.

Survivors include her son Jerry Wright of Athens,

three grandchildren, Jeremy Lawson, Chris Wright and Angela Loveless,

10 great grandchildren,

three sisters, Mary Hyde of Athens, Katheryn McNabb and Haskell of Cleveland and Geneva Anderson of Ten Mile.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday August 5, at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Shane White officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home.
