Marjorie Ann Lyles Womac, age 82, of Athens, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the residence of her granddaughter.
Marjorie was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. She was a daughter of the late Elmer and Beatrice Manery Lyles. She was also preceded by her loving husband of 28 years Riley Jacob “R.J.” Womac on February 15, 2002, son Jeff Key, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Jeanne Womac, daughter Ella Womac, and brother David Lyles.
Marjorie attended Clear Springs Baptist Church and had been a longtime employee of Big Lots.
Marjorie is survived by
Daughters Toni West of Etowah and Diane Bayes (Bill) of Athens;
Sons John Norwood (Connie) of Athens, and Jesse Norwood (Yokko) of Japan;
Daughter-In-Law Cathy Key of Athens;
Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be at 7 PM Friday, June 10, 2022, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Van Elkins officiating.
Interment will be at 11 AM Saturday, June 11, at Clear Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5 PM – 7 PM Friday.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Russell, Joshua Knox, Cecil Ferris, Mark Howard, Jonathan Knox and Dakota Powell.
