Martha Louise (Speed) Caldwell

Martha Louise Speed Caldwell, age 65, longtime resident of Meigs County, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  

She is preceded in death by her parents: Steve and Wanda Faye Carson Speed, a brother: Bo Speed, and a sister: Maggie Barber.

Martha is survived by her husband of 34 years: Jerome Caldwell, daughters: Sabrina Griffin, Margaret Griffin, Amy Griffin and son Noah Duncan, Sharon Griffin (Tristen), and Ashley Griffin, son: Jerome Caldwell, Jr, 22 grandchildren, one great-grandson, a sister: Myetta Blackwell, and brothers: Danny Speed and James Speed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Brother Craig Laing officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Decatur.

Jeremy Montague, Matthew Reeves, Sharon Griffin, Shawn McCarty, Brian Crawford, and Charles Hammonds will serve as pallbearers.
