Marty Douglas Swicegood

Marty Douglas Swicegood, age 39, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.

Marty was a native Maryville and longtime resident of McMinn County.  He is preceded by maternal grandparents Leon & Elsie Hicks Swicegood, paternal grandfather William B. Tipton, and paternal step grandfather David Brummet.

Marty enjoyed fishing, hunting and animals.

Marty is survived by

Mother Paula Gale Gibbs of Knoxville;

Father Marty Robin Swicegood of Athens;

Daughter Bella Swicegood;

Sisters Amber Barrett (James) and Heather Ballew (Otis);

Brother 2^nd Petty Officer Korey Swicegood (Amy) of Norfolk, VA;

Paternal Grandmother Dorothy Brummet of Knoxville;

Several Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews;

Special Friend Arnold Cate.

A Memorial Service will be at 2 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Athens Free Saint True Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Hicks officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12 PM – 2 PM Saturday.
