Mary Lou Shelton Roberts, age 78, longtime resident of Ten Mile, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She attended Open Door Baptist Church in Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents: J. B. and Delie Branham Shelton, husband of 47 years: Ollie Nelta Roberts, brothers: Wilford, William, James, Johnny and Ronnie Shelton, sisters: Barbara Pressley and Deanna Stafford, and sister-in-law: Peggy Shelton.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughters: Thelma Jean Myers of Ten Mile, and Kay McCosh (David) of Niota, sister: Marcella Shell of Niota, brother: Sammy Shelton of Athens, grandchildren: Alex Myers, Sarabeth Thomason (Alex), and Seth McCosh, great-grandchildren: Tucker and Josie Thomason, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ten Mile with Pastor Mason Strickland and Pastor Ted Clower officiating and special singing by Eddy Watson, Johnathan Watson, Danny and Patsy Carter. Interment will follow funeral services at Hornsby Hollow Cemetery in Ten Mile.
David McCosh, Ray Myers, Micky Oden, Randy Gibson, Alex Thomason, and Clyde Mobley will serve as pallbearers.
