Mary S. Bunch Hicks, age 92, of Athens, died Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living of Athens. She was born in Meigs County to the late Frank and Katie Sneed Bunch. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack Mallard Hicks; son, Doug Hicks; brothers, Lawton Bunch, Clifford “Shorty” Bunch and Kenneth Bunch; sisters, Pauline Farris and Lillian Lee.
She was a longtime resident of McMinn County, a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and retired from Thomas and Betts. Mary enjoyed gardening and working outdoors in her flowers.

Several nieces, nephews, along with 3 special nieces, Cathy Stone, Lisa Crabtree and Sharon Russell.
Graveside services will be Monday, October 14, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Dr. Mike Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends Monday 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Ziegler Funeral Home.
