Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Blevins) Weir

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Blevins Weir of Riceville entered into the presence of the Lord on June 10, 2023. She was 94 years old. She was a faithful member of Sanford Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her family. She was born in McMinn County on June 30, 1928. Betty was the oldest living member of Sanford Baptist Church, where she has been a member for 81 years.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Winona Blevins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Weir, and her daughter Diana Cranfield, one brother Argile Blevins, sisters Jewel Womac, Bonnie Long and Lucille Deakins.

Betty is survived by her son: Don Weir and wife Janice Weir, grandchildren, Tonya Howard and husband Chris, Rebecca Weir, Donnie Weir II, Brent Cranfield and wife Emily, Brooke Pannell and husband Aaron; great grandchildren: Torin, Logan, Eli and Nia Howard, Gracey, Ethan, Bella and Brianna Pannell; siblings: Paul Blevins and wife Shelby, Arlie Blevins and wife Patsy, Charles Blevins and wife Frances, Freddie Blevins and wife Dolores, Louise Smith and husband Ruly and Loretta Clark.

A special thanks to her caregivers for taking such good care of her.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery in Riceville.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
