Melissa "Lisa" (Duggan) Underdown

Melissa “Lisa” Duggan Underdown, age 60, a native and longtime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was a manager and operator for the McMinn/Meigs Youth Softball league and attended First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Bobby and Brenda Ann McKeehan Duggan, a daughter: Elizabeth Underdown, a son: Bryson Eaton, a sister: Camisa LaShawn “Sissy” Duggan, and a daughter-in-law: Torie Lacinda Chastain Underdown.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 43 years: Tony L. Underdown, daughters: Brittainy Byrnes (Jason) and Christina Underdown, sons: Ted Underdown, Daniel Underdown (Bridget Broyles), and Amos Underdown, her grandchildren: Brenda Pike, Christopher Underdown, Delanie Underdown, Lucas Underdown, Sawyer Pratt, Scarlett Underdown, Kyri Byrnes, Rykan Byrnes, Rylie Kate Byrnes, Deacon Underdown, Jessica Burman, Johnathan Burman, Jacob Broyles, and Matthew Broyles, mother-in-law: Patsy O’Daniel Underdown, sisters: Kathy Johnson (Mike), Michelle Duggan, Sherry Rogers (Keith), a brother: Tony Duggan, and her brothers-in-law: Timothy Ray Underdown (Margaret Derrick), Terry Scotty Underdown (Kelly), and Tracy Charles Underdown (Sarah-Ann), a special goddaughters: Katie Melton, Jessica Eckels, and Rene Bafford along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Ziegler Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at 1:30 PM at South Liberty Cemetery. Reverend Shane Duggan will be officiating.

Daniel Underdown, Levi Underdown, Brian Underdown, Micah Underdown, Caleb Underdown, Ethan Underdown, Eli Underdown, and Brent Underdown will serve as pallbearers.
