Michael Hilton Walden

Michael Hilton Walden, age 67, of Sweetwater, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at his residence.

Michael was a native of Sweetwater and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was a son of the late Steve and Marie Presswood Walden. He was also preceded by his loving wife of 44 years, Arlean Cole Walden, and sister Kathy Partin.

Michael was a member at Morning View Baptist Church. He owned and operated his own trucking company for over 30 years before retiring from Transport One.

Michael is survived by

Daughter Dionne Coleman of Athens,

Sons Chuck Bumbalough (Marsha), Greg Bumbalough, Mark Walden (Amanda), all of Athens.

8 grandchildren

3 great-grandchildren

Sisters Diane Walden of Etowah, Shirley Teague (Ray) of Athens, Sharon Neil (John) of Niota, Connie Bunch (Robbie) of Ten Mile, Jessica Freeman (Samuel) of Athens, and Nicole Walden of Madisonville

Brother Ed Walden (Teresa) of Ten Mile

Several nieces and nephews

And a special friend, Alice Davis of Sweetwater.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Friday, March 24, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Lay Speaker Jerry Culberson officiating. Interment will follow at  Cole-Roberts Cemetery in Ten Mile, TN.   

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12 PM-2 PM on Friday.
