Nancy Lana (Lankford) Self

Nancy Lana Lankford Self, 54, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a native of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and a resident of McMinn and Meigs County for 34 years.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, David Lankford and father-in-law and mother-in law, David and Sallie Self, and a sister-in-law Connie Crucilla.  

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wesley Self of Decatur, and her mother, Linda Norwood Lankford of Riceville. She is also survived by a son, Mark Lankford (Alana), a step-son, Wes Woolson (Crystal), six grandchildren, Hayleigh Lankford, Sophia Lankford, Hadli Brubaker, Kyerstyn Woolson, Kyndahl Rominger, and Karleigha Woolson. She is additionally survived by two sisters, Rachel Edwards (Frank) and Sharon Brown (Ron).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 11:00-1:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow directly after the service at Watts Cemetery in Loudon, Tennessee.

Family will be serving as pallbearers.
