Nannie Lucinda (Faulkner) Cassada

Nannie Lucinda Faulkner Cassada, age 85, of Riceville passed away at 10:37 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, surrounded by family in her residence.  She was born on March 30, 1937, in Whitley County, KY to John and Ollie Jane Faulkner.  She was raised by the late Cledia Faulkner.  Nannie married the late Bobby Cassada on April 30, 1955.  They were married for 31 years before Bobby passed.

Nannie was a hard worker her entire life.  She owned her own businesses from painting and cleaning homes to picture framing.  She built strong foundations in work ethic for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Nannie enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and running her businesses. 

To her family, Nannie was known as a strong, stubborn, giving, independent, and caring woman.  She was the first to help family, friends, and strangers.  Nannie’s greatest legacy is her family.

Nannie is survived by 3 children Betty Cox, Nannie (Robert) Strik, and Angela (Brent) Carter;

9 Grandchildren Renea (Dean) Branstetter, Chris (Donna) Hamblin, Tommie (Angie) Houston, Amanda Cox, Bobby (Nicole) Cassada, Lindsay Cassada, Paige Hicks, Oakley (Ashley) Hicks, and Caleb Cassada;

15 Great Grandchildren;

12 Siblings Doris, Gracie, Johnny, Woody, Leonard, Nadine, Brenda, Author, Sim, Dallas, Imogene, and Elfreda;

Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Cassada, 3 sons Clyde, Robert Lee and Ernie Cassada, grandchild Jesse Hamblin, brother William Faulkner, and sister Laura McCameron.

Special thanks to Ashley Hicks, Jane Carter, Tammy Willis, and Adoration Hospice who helped take excellent care of Nannie.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM - 7 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home.  Brother Travis Torbett will have prayer for safe travel of family and friends.

Nannie will then be transported to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home in Kokomo, IN.  The family will have receiving of friends from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Friday, January 20, 2023.  Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Charlie Riley officiating.  Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
