Patsy Vivian Kennedy (maiden name Johnson), age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on May 2, 2026. Born on December 10, 1940, in Sweetwater, Tennessee, Patsy lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Kennedy (2023), as well as her parents, Albert and Muncie Johnson, and her siblings Kenneth Johnson, Beatrice Webb, Shirley Givens, Bobbie Jean Johnson, Phyllis Presley, and Dennis Johnson.
Patsy is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela Couscos and husband John. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished grandchildren: Diamanda Pike (Derek), Patricia Duncan (Travis), Katina Tsirnikas (Adam), and Demetri Couscos (Melody). Her joy multiplied in her great-grandchildren: Lexi, Lanie, and Brayden Pike; Emily, Tyson, and Jaxon Duncan; Sophia, Anastasia, and Gianni Tsirnikas; and Yianni, Izabella, and Arabella Couscos.
She is also survived by her dear sisters Maxine Wallace, Nancy Moses, and Dorothy Crowe, along with many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.
Patsy retired from Eaton Manufacturing, where she worked faithfully for many years. She was a lifelong member of Lakeview Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and it showed in the way she cared for others—with kindness, gentleness, and a quiet strength.
She was known for her warm spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. Patsy found joy in simple things—especially attending and supporting McMinn County gospel singings, where her love for gospel and fellowship shined.
Above all, Patsy was the heart of her family. Her love was steady, her presence comforting, and her legacy one of faith and devotion that will live on through generations.
She held close to the promise found in John 14:1–3 (KJV):
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with the love of her life of 50 years, a reunion she had longed for through the past two years. Together again, she rests peacefully in the presence of her Savior, whole and healed, just as she always believed she would be.
