Rebecca June Garrett Hampton, age 88, lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She, along with her husband, J.C. Hampton, was.
co-owner of Hampton Heat & Air for 33 years, and Hampton Rentals for 40 years.
June was a daughter of the late Jack and Bessie Pope Garrett. She is also preceded by her loving husband of 64 years: J.C. Hampton, daughter: Letha Jean Hampton Silvers, grandson: Jamey Lee Silvers, and siblings: Reverend Jack Garrett, Ann Vaughn, and Vivian Atkins.
She is survived by a daughter: Brenda Walker (Newton), grandchildren: Christina and Jacob Cooper, Victoria and T.J. Wilder, great-grandchildren: Christian Eaton, Zoey Arianna Eaton, James Alan Eaton, Jr., Jace Thomas Cooper, Jasper Aticus Eaton, Alex Wilder, Luke Wilder, Samantha Wilder, Bella Wilder, Charleigh Juliann Cooper, a sister: Patricia Sue Martin, along with several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks are offered to Hearth Hospice and Accent (Guardian) Home Health. The family would also like to recognize the special tenants of Hampton Rentals.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home. A celebration of June’s life will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Steve Strickland officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hampton Cemetery in Englewood.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Cooper, T.J. Wilder, Buford Baxter, Zendal Baxter, Chris Hammonds, and Tim Martin. James “Jimmy” Packett, Bill Cotton, Robert Knight, Roland Malone, and Kevin Hammonds will serve as honorary pallbearers.
