Rita Kay Kirkland Patterson, age 61, of Niota, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at her residence.

Rita was a native of South Gate, CA and longtime resident of Monroe and McMinn Counties.  She was a daughter of the late Mary Mason Kirkland.

Rita is survived by

Father J.B. Kirkland of Tellico Plains;

Daughter Samantha Sheldon (Paul) of Mancelona, MI;

Sons Tim (Kim) Patterson of Riceville and Joshua Daniel Patterson of Niota;

Sisters Beatrice Keller of Tellico Plains, Barbara Queen (David) of Niota, and Megan Kirkland of Englewood;

Brother James Kirkland of Niota;

10 Grandchildren;

2 Great-Grandchildren;

Many Nieces and Nephews.
