Robert Boyd Brinkley

Robert Boyd Brinkley, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. He was a former resident of Trinidad, Colorado, prior to moving to Tellico 49 years ago.

Robert loved his family and the Lord.  He was an avid runner, loved playing basketball, and was a big UT fan. Robert was a graduate of Tellico Plains High School and later attended Hiwassee College and Cleveland State, where he pursued an associate’s degree in Sports Medicine. Robert was self-employed and owned a painting business.    

He is preceded in death by his father: Spence Brinkley.

Robert is survived by his mother: Dorothy Gonzales Brinkley, his wife: Wendy Hockman Brinkley, a brother: David (Patricia) Brinkley, sisters: Diane (Tony) Meehl and Darlene Brinkley, his aunt: Nicole Gonzales, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Ziegler Funeral Home on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Aaron Brinkley will open the service, and Pastor Dustin Wilds will officiate. Interment will be held at Green Hill Cemetery on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Matt Brinkley, Brandon Fresch, Ricky Fresch, Cody Heifner, Gary Hockman, and Erik Hockman will serve as pallbearers.
