Robert “Rock” Rothwell passed into the arms of Jesus May 3, 2023. He had a seizure from an old stroke that happened in 2008. He also suffered from OCD his entire adult life. He was a 3rd generation farmer and took great pride in keeping his farm neat as a pin. After the stroke, his health started to decline. He was not able to care for his farm anymore that added to his depression. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2022. He was employed by PI of Athens for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley A. Rothwell and one son, Bobby Rothwell, several cousins, and close friends.
The family would like to thank the Erlanger Stroke Center, the nurses on the seventh floor and Hospice of Chattanooga. All showed so much compassion, which is what Jesus taught us while on earth.
There will be no formal visitation as was his wish. The family will have a graveside service later. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Volunteer Animal Shelter of Decatur: Care P.O. Box 62, Decatur, TN 37322.
