Obituary
Reverend Robert Lee Williams, 77, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a native of Greenwood, Mississippi and a former resident of Clarksville, Georgia before moving to McMinn County thirty years ago. Robert was an ordained minister, a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the American Legion Post #68. He was a retired machinist from Textron and later worked for The City of Athens Public Works Department and Parks and Recreation.
Robert is preceded in death by his father and mother DeWitt and Vera Organ and two sisters, Cindy Williams and Ruth Crick
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Ann Miller Williams of Athens, daughters, Lisa McCallister and family Charlene Oliver and family, Veronica Galloway and family, sons, John Patrick and family, Barry McClain and family and Robert Williams and family.
Robert is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow directly after the service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, Tennessee.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
