Sandra G. (Newman) Allen

Sandra G. Newman Allen, age 65, a native and lifelong resident of Athens, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026. She retired from Thomas and Betts after 40 years of service. Sandra enjoyed painting, spending time with family, going to the beach, and loving on her fur babies.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Nancy Presswood Newman.

Sandra is survived by her father: Walter (Dena) Newman, her husband: Darryl Allen, a daughter: Kristin Trew, a son: Landon Trew, a brother: Danny (Tina) Newman, a sister-in-law: Trish (Jeff) Crackle, a brother-in-law: Carl (Belma) Allen, along with several nieces and nephews.  

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Davey Lewis will be officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Englewood.

Danny Cole, Ryan Crackle, Tim Canfield, Larry Rollins, Travis Bridges, and Zachary Newman will serve as pallbearers. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Webb.
