Sue Ann “Susie” Roberts Stapp, age 63, a longtime resident of McMinn County, was born August 9, 1962. She passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Susie was the youngest daughter of the late Jay and Viola Roberts of Sweetwater.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jefferson and Viola Reno Roberts, sisters: Jewel Henry, Tilda Cain, and Mae Emeson, and her longtime companion: David Thompson.
Susie is survived by her daughter: Nancy “Nay” Mahaffey, her son: Brandon Rhoden and family of Kentucky, grandson: Hunter Mahaffey, two sisters: Mary Galyon of Englewood and JoAnn Cain and family of Athens, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to cover final expenses.
Family and friends will gather at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ten Mile for graveside services at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Brother Gene Totherow will be officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Susie’s family and friends.
