Virginia (Wolfenbarger) Womac

Virginia (Ginny) was born in Luttrell, Tennessee, the third child of Charles (Charlie) and Creola Wallace Wolfenbarger. She married Junior Allen (J.A.) Womac in 1947. They raised their family in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In 1973, they moved to his home town of Athens, Tennessee, where they enjoyed retirement until J.A.’s death in 2011. She then made her home in Alabama, near her son Charles’s family.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents, husband Junior Allen Womac, sons Charles David Womac and Michael Alan Womac. She is survived by her daughter Linda W. Stafford Watson (Steve) of Cleveland, Tennessee, grandchildren Christy Baron of Greeley, Colorado, Brad Litton (Cheryl) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lisa Burdett (Steve), and Tara Tryon (Tyson) of Montevallo, Alabama, daughters-in-law Lucy Womac of Calera, Alabama, and Linda Bacon of Athens, Tennessee, seven great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia passed away peacefully at the age of 93.

Visitation will be at Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 P.M., Reverend Ronnie Pearson officiating.

Burial will be at 2:00 PM, Monday January 23, 2023 at McMinn Memory Gardens.
